Reception Class Summer 2019
This term our topic is called 'Summer Sensation.' We will be learning about the wonderful season Summer. We will be using many interesting factual and story books to help us.
We have been looking for minibeast in our outdoor area. We are learning to recognise and name minibeasts. We found lots of different kinds of minibeast. It was so interesting and we had great fun learning.
We are looking at a tiny caterpillar. We are going to observe the caterpillar everyday and watch it change into a butterfly. More photos will follow! It is fascinating!
We went to Cosmeston Lake in the school minibuses. We went on a minibeast hunt in the wooden area. We found lots of different minibeasts. We pretended we were badgers smelling different aromas. We made bracelets using the leaves of different plants. It was a great day of learning through exploring and having fun.
We had our lunch together then played some games on the grass. We went for a walk and saw lots of ducks and swans. On the way home we were very tired but still excited about our day.
Look at the snails we are making using clay. We are going to paint them when the clay has gone hard.
