Our Topic for this Term is...
Animal Magic
We will be reading lots of different books about animals.
We read the book 'Dear Zoo'.
We all really enjoyed it, especially when the zoo sent us a puppy.
We went on a puppy hunt in our Nursery garden. We looked everywhere and eventually we found him hiding in a basket.
We have been investigating size and comparing objects. We had to make cages for the animals in our zoo. We matched the correct size cage to the correct size animal.
We made our own version of 'Old MacDonald had a Farm' song, then we made a mini farm with pigs, penguins, cows and horses.
We read the book-
'The Tiger Who Came to Tea'
We had lots of fun.
We made our own play dough cakes -
We also dressed up as tigers-
We also made tiger cakes and had a tiger tea party. It was great!
We have been very busy, building, making, cooking and measuring.
Take a look at what we have done.
We looked at the artist Kandinsky and had a go at making our own pictures. We also went circle hunting around the school and painted spots on our faces.
We have been measuring our animals from our farm. We used multilink and rulers to help us.
We read Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons. It was great. Poor Pete kept loosing his buttons.
We made our own Pete the Cat and his buttons. It was fun! We also dressed up as Pete.
We learnt that Pete says.... "It's all good. Buttons come and buttons go and I'll keep singing my song, 'My Four Groovy Buttons' ".
