Our topic in Spring Term 2 is
Changes
We will be
- sorting items into things used long ago and things we use today
- preparing for our school Eisteddfod
- acting out a Victorian tea time in our role play area
- learning the names of baby animals
- carrying out some exciting experiments to see how things change and what happens when they do
- writing about our earliest memories and our dreams for the future
- learning about homes one hundred years ago, especially wash day and bath time
- thinking about how we change as we get older
- writing about what people used in the past in the days before electricity
- learning about how humans impact the environment and how we can carry out positive changes
- reacting creatively to negative changes in the environment through art, music and dance
- studying some artists from the early 1900s
- visiting St Fagans to experience a Victorian wash day and to learn how the process has changed since - and to spot some items we have been learning about around the buildings and grounds
- designing building block castles
- watching children's TV programmes from the past and voting on our favourites
- getting ready for Easter
- learning about the life of and work of Welsh designer Laura Ashley
- discovering what changes happen to our bodies when we exercise
- and lots of other things
