Power of People

Welcome back to the new term. Please check regularly to see any announcements and what we have been getting up to.

This term Year 6 are looking at the context 'Power of People'. Over the next number of weeks we will learn and discover what rights we have as children and adults. Who makes the decisions about how we live and the rules we have to follow. We will be going on two trips to the National Assembly building, The Senedd. First two find out about the building and why it is so important to the people of Wales and then we will be going to learn about the powers of the Welsh government and to learn how to debate.

Literacy

We will be reading the novel Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz. We will be completing a number of writing activities about this novel as we progress through the first half term. We will be creating spy gadgets and persuading others to buy, a storyboard of a specific scene chosen by the children, a playscript of the story and exploring many other genres of writing.
