This term our theme is Our Heritage, and we’ll be exploring the stories, people, and places that help make our community special. The children will learn about famous Welsh individuals, important landmarks across Wales, and the history of our own local area. We’ll also be finding out more about the jobs people do in our community and how everyone plays a part in shaping where we live. Later in the term, we’ll take a step back in time to learn about the Victorians and what life was like during their era.
In Literacy, the children will create information pieces, share their ideas in class discussions, and enjoy activities that celebrate Welsh culture and identity. In Maths, we’ll use real-life examples from our local area to explore data, measurements, and comparisons between the past and present.
Our Humanities lessons will help us understand how communities grow and change, and how the people of Wales—and beyond—have influenced the world around us. Through the Arts, pupils will get creative by designing heritage-inspired artwork, music, and displays that celebrate who we are and where we come from.
In Health and Well-being, we’ll focus on teamwork, pride in our community, and developing positive mindsets as we learn about the people, traditions, and stories that make our heritage unique.
