PPA Autumn 2016

Reception - Dosbarth Derbyn
In Reception this term we will be learning lots of new Welsh vocabulary.
We will learn how to ask for something in Welsh; 'Can I ...' - 'Ga i ...'

I will also be doing RE with the children.
The two topics are: Me and My Friends and Hanukkah/Christmas

Year 1 - Blwyddyn Un
This term in Year 1 we will busy practising our handwriting. It is important that we shape our letters correctly and always present our work neatly.

Hopefully the weather is ok this term so that we can use the outdoors to complete lots of different maths activities.

We will learn lots of new ICT skills this term. Using the iPads and other technology is lots of fun.

I will also be doing RE with the children. 
The two topics are: Special Times and 7 New Kittens/Christmas 

Year 2 - Blwyddyn Dau
I look forward to working with the children in Year 2 on their poetry skills. We will complete a selection of different poems and hopefully use lots of exciting words in them.

The children in Year 2 were fantastic at Welsh last year and I can't wait to work with them on their Welsh this year. Dwi'n hoffi Cymraeg!

I will also be doing RE with the children.
The two topics are: Noah's Ark and Shabbat/Food

Year 3 - Blwyddyn Tri
I am so excited about spending a lot of time in Year 3 this term. I will be with them 5 days one week and 1 day the next.
During Mrs Donnelly's PPA I will work with the children on their comprehension skills. It is very important for the children to understand and discuss what they have read. We will answer questions about a variety of different pieces of writing showing our understanding of what we have read.

We will also have fun learning about science and completing lots of investigations.

Year 4
We will be spending the majority of the morning completing different maths investigations as well as trying to improve on our Big Maths scores!
In the afternoons we will be completing different science investigations and experiments all to do with forces.
Our first investigation includes a toy car, a ramp with different surfaces, and a measuring tape... What could we be looking at?

Year 5
Again we will be completing different maths investigations and looking to improve on our Big Maths CLIC scores.

The afternoon consists of different science investigations to do with Energy, Light and Sound. We will be making our own electric circuits.
Our first investigation includes a lot of different materials, wires, battery and a bulb... What could we be investigating?

Year 6
I will be spending the majority of my time in Year 6 on a Friday working closely with Mrs Anderson.

Maths - There is always a challenge in Year 6 to beat Mr P! Will you be the first? We will also look at a range of mathematical investigations as well as practising our Big Maths methods. I am looking at setting up a Mathletics Club - Please let me know if you're interested - If you like a challenge, this is the club for you!!!

Like Year 5 we will  be looking at Energy, Light and Sound with many different activities and investigations to look at.
